
Nancy van den Broeke has been involved in the South Canterbury Art world for many
years.
She has been teaching regular art classes for several years. These involve six weekly
courses with classes of two and a half hours duration. She teaches techniques in
painting water colours, acrylics and oils.
Nancy, a qualified teacher, is fully trained in Adult Learning techniques. She has
gained a certificate in Adult learning and teaching. Also she has a higher Diploma
of teaching and an advanced Diploma of Teaching. She has studied art extensively
and art papers make up a large number of papers in her teaching diplomas.
As well as teaching in the classroom she has taught on a individual basis. She has
attended classes at the Canterbury School of Art during her time as a teacher in
Christchurch. She has also attended many weekend schools and summer schools held
by eminent artists.
Nancy also has had experience teaching as a tutor at weekend schools. She has been
successful in gaining the South Canterbury Trust Bank Award in Waimate and further
awards associated with the North Otago Art Society.
She has been part of an assessment panel for the South Canterbury Art Society and
judge, along with Chris, for the North Otago Biennial Exhibition.
Nancy is only too willing to make available her knowledge and experience to those
who wish to attend her art classes.
